Murray Scores but Scots Fall at Beloit on Saturday

MONMOUTH, Ill. (10/06/2024) — The Monmouth College men's soccer team outshot Beloit 26-9 on Saturday but lost on the road 2-1. The Fighting Scots (2-6-2, 0-1-1) scored with 1:49 to play but were unable to find the late equalizer against the Buccaneers.

Monmouth did not face a shot on goal in the first half while forcing the Beloit keeper to make nine saves. Overall in the scoreless 45 minutes Monmouth outshot Beloit 13-3.

The Buccaneers broke the tie in the 70th minute and made it 2-0 five minutes later. Owen Murray (Cedar City, Utah) scored with 1:49 to play to cut the Beloit lead to 2-1.
