Newton, Cox, Boley Deliver Top 10 Performances For Track & Field

MONMOUTH, Ill (04/23/2023) — The Monmouth College track and field teams competed at the Meet of Champions over the weekend with a handful of top 10 finishes. The two-day event, hosted by Augustana, included 16 teams ranging from Division 1 to Junior College.

Women
Maddie Boley (Beecher, Illinois) finished fourth in the discus with a career-best throw of 43.67m, the seventh-best mark in school history. She also finished ninth in the hammer throw at 42.41m with teammade Addi Cox (Morton, Illinois) finishing fourth at 48.12m. That throw moves Cox into ninth on the Monmouth career list.

Amanda Dybal (Apex, North Carolina) finished sixth in both the javelin and discus. She threw 31.33m in the javelin and 41.16m in the discus. Kayla Braun (Evansville, Illinois) was sixth in the shot put at 12.42m, a career best. Cox finished 10th in the shot put at 11.67m.

Lauren Anderson (Cambridge, Illinois) won the high jump at 1.50m. Miranda Hursey (Hanna City, Illinois) won the pole vault at 3.10m, tying for ninth in school history.

Men
Reed Wilson (Normal, Illinois) finished fourth in the pole vault at 4.48m. Caleb Toberman (Clifton, Illinois) took fifth in the hammer throw with a season-best 51.14m. Eli Newton (Dallas City, Illinois) finished ninth in the 800m race with a career-best 1:55.63. That time ranks fifth in school history.

The 4x100m relay men's team got fifth with Reed Bona (Dyersburg, Tennessee), Lane Grice (East Galesburg, Illinois), Luke Jachimiec (Aurora, Illinois) and Adrian Outlaw (Galesburg, Illinois) finishing in 44.48 seconds.
