Oradiegwu, Peckham, Toberman Win Multiple Events Saturday

Monmouth Track & Field teams find success at IC

MONMOUTH, Ill. (04/30/2022) — The Monmouth College track and field team competed at the True Blue Invite in Jacksonville, Illinois on Saturday. The Scots had multiple winners on the day with Joseph Oradiegwu (Richmond, Texas), Caleb Toberman (Clifton, Illinois) and Jordan Peckham (Farmington, Illinois) all winning multiple events.

Joseph Oradiegwu won the long jump at 6.36m and also won the triple jump at 13.16m. His twin brother Jonathan Oradiegwu (Richmond, Texas) won the high jump with a season-best 2.03m. That height matches his career high from 2019 at the Midwest Conference meet and is tied for seventh in Monmouth history.

Toberman won the hammer throw at 50.39m just ahead of teammate Andy Bird (Beecher, Illinois) at 49.12m. Toberman's throw is a career-best and the top throw in the MWC this season. Toberman's career-high 14.37m throw won the shot put ahead of Bird's 13.14 and Toberman was also second in the discus at 40.39m.

Peckham won the 200m race in 24.95, a career high and the fifth best time in Monmouth history. She also won the 100m race in 12.17, the top time in the MWC this season. Peckham currently holds the top MWC times in the 100m, 200m and 400m races this season .

Reed Wilson (Normal, Illinois) won the pole vault with a season-best 4.86m. Riley Dulin (Monmouth, Illinois) took the 800m race with a career-best 1:58.17 and Reed Bona (Dyersburg, Tennessee) won the 400m hurdles in a career-best 1:00.79.

In the women's distance races, Ezzie Baltierra-Chavez (Denver, Colorado) won the 3000m steeplechase with a season-best of 12:38.73. Arika Hofmann won the 5000m race with a season-best 20:18.70. Mik Moore (Washignton, Illinois) won the 800m race in 2:31.34 and Kara Fisher won the 400m in a season-best 1:02.53

Maddie Boley (Beecher, Illinois) won the discus with a toss of 42.35m. Kareema Lawal (Aurora, Illinois) got second in the hammer throw at 44.41m.

The Scots will host the Fighting Scots Invite next Saturday in the final regular-season meet of 2022. The seniors will be honored during the meet.
