Personal-Bests Equal Wins for Scots at Home Swim Invitational
Monmouth, IL (11/10/2019) — Monmouth swimmers posted a pair of personal-bests for wins at Saturday's Monmouth College Invitational where the men's team placed third and the women fourth.
Jaidlyn Sellers and Preston Bocchi clocked PRs to pace their respective teams. Sellers touched first in the women's 50-yard freestyle, clocking a 26.34 to win by nine one-hundredths. Bocchi was the winner in the men's 100 free with a 48.66 to win by nearly a full second. Sellers also posted a runner up finish, touching the pad in 58.28 in the women's 100 free, a half second out of first.
Other top four swims included Miranda Pasky in the 100 breast and Tyler Davis in the 200 free. Pasky turned in a 1:15.30 in the 100 breast to place third. Davis was fourth in the 200 free, posting a 1:52.11, two tenths ahead of teammate Rik Doornenbal's fifth place time of 1:52.31.
The Scots also placed third in three relay events. Sellers and Pasky teamed with Maggie Wingo and Lauren Fulscher to swim a 2:01.24 in the 200 medley relay. The foursome ended the meet with a 3:58.02 in the 400 free relay. The men's 400 free relay also took third when Doornenbal, Davis and Bocchi added Andrew Lee to clock a 3:26.76.
Monmouth travels to Jacksonville Saturday for a dual meet with Illinois College.
