Prusak Finishes Eighth at Golf Conference Championships

Scots Finish Eighth in Team Standings

MONMOUTH, Ill. (04/26/2022) — The Monmouth College men's golf team finished in eighth place out of 11 teams at the SLIAC Golf Championships in Louisville, Kentucky. Junior Ryan Prusak (Oswego, Illinois) had the best finish overall as he tied for 8th, finishing as an All-Conference Second Team selection for the second straight season.

The championships were held at the Par-72, 6550 yard Polo Fields Golf and Country Club in Louisville. The teams all played two rounds on Monday and one round on Tuesday. Webster University won the event with a team score of 906 and they also had the individual champion in Will Hocker, the only player under par for the event at -5.

Prusak shot a 76 in the first round on Monday and followed that up with a 75. He sat in fifth place after Monday's 36 holes before carding an 81 on Tuesday. Prusak finished +16 for championships with a 232. He had 33 pars in the three rounds, sixth most in the event, and added four birdies.

Ganon Greenman (Alpha, Illinois) also finished top 20 with a total of 239. The freshman opened with an 82 and followed with a 77 in Monday's second round. He shot an 80 on Tuesday and finished in a tie for 19th place.

Jimmy Johnson (Andalusia, Illinois) had the third best result for the Scots with a 268. He started with his best round of the week, an 85, and added a 90 in Monday's second round. Johnson's 93 on Tuesday put him in 44th overall.

Noah Shields (Rantoul, Illinois) finished one spot behind Johnson with a 270. He carded a 90 in all three rounds to finish 45th.

Ben Dobberstein (Oswego, Illinois) started with an 88 in Monday's first round, followed by a 98. He bounced back with his best round of the event, an 86, on Tuesday. Dobberstein's 272 finished tied for 57th.
