Lake Forest scored first, but Monmouth scored more often in a 4-1 Homecoming win over the Foresters Saturday at Peacock Park.

It didn't take Monmouth's Kara-Jade Gordon long to tie the game after the Foresters punched in their lone goal in the eighth minute. The Scots' leading scorer knotted the game with an assist from Yari Aguado less than two minutes after the Foresters' goal to start a two-goal first half by Monmouth. The Scot took the lead on Jacie Reis' eighth goal of the season at the 30 minute mark as Monmouth took a 2-1 lead at the half. Sarah Poirier and Mikayla McCart scored net-finders - McCart's in the 81st minute - as the Scots maintained third place in the Midwest Conference.

Quinn Cutler stayed perfect on the year, turning aside seven shots to improve to 7-0 on the season, pushing Monmouth to 11-3-1, 4-2 in the MWC, one point behind second place Cornell and four back of league-leading Knox.

The Scots host Lawrence Sunday at 11 a.m. for their Senior Day at Peacock Park.
