Scots' Water Polo Men Earn Record Number of Individual National Academic Honors

Monmouth, IL (02/16/2020) — A program record four members of the Monmouth College men's water polo team has earned inclusion on the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) all-academic list.

In order to qualify for ACWPC academic honors, student-athletes must have earned a minimum grade point average of 3.20 on a four-point scale. The award is broken into three categories: Outstanding (4.0-3.71), Superior (3.70-3.41) and Excellent (3.40-3.20).

Freshmen Joseph Addison (Eads, Tenn./Faith Heritage Christian Academy) and Dakota Salmi (Chicago, Ill./John F. Kennedy) were awarded the ACWPC Superior status for academic excellence. Addison, an accounting major, is the son of Wayne and Suellen Addison. A biochemistry major, Salmi is the son of Wanda Salmi.

Earning the ACWPC's Excellent standing was freshman Kaveh Moaddeli (Newport Beach, Calif./Corona Del Mar) and sophomore Quentin Bartram (Dublin, Ohio/Worthington Kilbourne). A biology major, Moaddeli is the son of Fariborz and Kathleen Moaddeli. Bartram is a math major and the son of Greg and Tina Bartram.

The foursome are the first Scots' honorees since Riley Hess and Sebastian Hernandez claimed Outstanding and Excellent status in 2017.
