Monmouth took an early 10-point lead and never looked back in a season-opening 92-43 win over Central College of the Bible in the opening game of MacMurray's Sleep Inn Classic in Jacksonville.

Becca Gallis hit 12 of her 16 shots and dialed in a near-record game-high 32 points in 19 minutes, missing the program single game scoring record by a mere five points, to pace the Scots who blistered the net hitting 33 of 63 from the floor for the game. Monmouth raced out to a 43-24 halftime lead and kept the heat on in the third quarter, going 9-for-16 from the floor, upping their lead to 70-38 as the Scots cleared the bench in the final quarter.

Tarae Warner pumped in a career-high 16 points on 6-of-9 shooting while Shayne Smith, and Kaitlyn Osmulski joined Warner and Gallis in double figures, scoring 14 points each. Senior guard Yvonne Ornelas dished out five assists while newcomer Josie Morgan came off the bench to grab a game-high five steals as Monmouth forced 23 turnovers from the Saints.

Monmouth returns to Jacksonville Sunday for a 3 p.m. tip off against host MacMurray.
