Scots Compete at Meet of Champions

MONMOUTH, Ill. (04/19/2026) — The Monmouth College men's and women's track and field teams competed at Augustana's Meet of Champions on Friday and Saturday.

MEN

Blake Orwig (Wyoming, Illinois) was fifth in the hammer throw with a PR of 51.80m. That performance moves him from eighth to seventh on the all-time MC hammer throw list. Gunner Bryant (Curryville, Missouri) was right behind him in sixth with a PR of 51.13 which ranks ninth on the all-time list.

Tashawn Ruffin (Bloomington, Illinois) delivered a season-best triple jump of 13.74m to finish fifth in the event.

Maddux Clark (Monmouth, Illinois) finished seventh in the 100m race. He qualified witha new PR of 10.86 seconds and ran 19.95 in the finals.

Running for the first time in the 10,000m, Xander Stoub (Palos Heights, Illinois) took seventh in 34:20.42.

Logan Morse (Yates City, Illinois) placed eighth in the high jump at 1.80m.

Kaden Foglesong (Ipava, Illinois) was ninth in the javelin with a PR throw of 42.94m. Johnny York (Elmwood, Illinois) took ninth in the long jump at 6.37m.

Braden Rees (Galesburg, Illinois) was ninth in the 5000m race in 17:37.30

Da'Von Patterson (Ponte Vedra, Florida) finished 10th in the 400m race in 51.61 seconds. '

WOMEN

Kayla Braun (Evansville, Illinois) took second in the shot put with a new outdoor PR of 13.48m which ranks 10th in MC history. Jillian Toth (El Paso, Illinois) finished seventh with a PR of 12.63m. Toth also placed second in the hammer with a season-best throw of 51.15m.

Sophia Kern (Abingdon, Illinois) was 10th in the 400m hurdles in 1:13.77.

NEXT UP: The Scots will host the Thursday Twilight Special on Thursday with field events starting at 2 p.m and track events beginning at 4 p.m.
