MONMOUTH, Ill. (09/04/2021) — For the second time this week the Monmouth College women's soccer team went on the road. After falling 1-0 at Wisconsin-Platteville in double overtime on Wednesday, the Scots fell 1-0 at Webster University on Saturday. T

The game was scoreless into the 19th minute when Webster's Jordan Lange took a pass from Grace Rodgers and gave the Gorloks a 1-0 lead 18:56 into the match. The Scots came close a couple of times but never got the equalizer.

"I was really pleased with the quality of our defending and our ability to create chances," said coach Lucas Henderson. "The next step is just to put some of those chances away. We've got a lot of belief in ourselves after going toe to toe with two quality programs this week."

Senior goalkeeper Quinn Cutler (Breese, Illinois) had another big game in goal with seven saves. She has saved 20-of-22 shots faced in the first two games of the season. Sophomore Madison Walker (Vernon Hills, Illinois) had two of the Scots four shots on goal. The others came from senior Hadyn DeLeeuw (Kirksville, Missouri) and junior Sam Koppers (Tinley Park, Illinois).

"Quinn had another impressive showing in goal, and Madison Walker put together 90 minutes of quality touches," said Coach Henderson. "We have a lot to improve on but a lot to be excited about and we hope our fans come out to Peacock on Sunday to support us in the home opener."
