Scots Fall to Blueboys on Tuesday
MONMOUTH, Ill. (10/15/2024) — The Monmouth College men's soccer team (2-8-2, 0-3-1) fell at home 4-0 to Illinois College on Tuesday. The Scots return to action on Saturday with a trip to Lake Forest.
IC took the lead in the 27th minute with a penalty kick goal and they made it 2-0 before half. They scored again in the 60th minute and 69th minute to finish off the scoring.
Luis Villa (El Paso, Texas) started in goal and allowed two goals in the first half while making one save. Alejandro Zamarripa (El Paso, Texas) played the second half and made three saves while allowing two goals.
MONMOUTH MOMENTS: Treyton Yi (Streamwood, Illinois) played the first 79 minutes before leaving the game, ending his streak of playing in the first 1,069 minutes of the season ... Monmouth played 24 players ... Christian Davis (Danville, Illinois) made his college debut in the final two minutes of action ... Montgomery Schroeder (Harrisonville, Missouri) made his first start of the season ... Parker Davis (Burlington, Iowa) and Omar Portillo (El Paso, Texas) led the Scots with two shots each ...
