Scots Fall to Foresters, Eliminated from MWC Race

MONMOUTH, Ill. (11/01/2025) — The Monmouth College women's soccer team ended their season with a 5-0 home loss against undefeated Lake Forest on Saturday. The Fighting Scots (7-6-3, 3-3-2) were eliminated from MWC Tournament contention when Grinnell won at Knox on Saturday. The Scots and Pioneers finished tied for fourth on 11 points and drew 0-0 this season but Grinnell won the next tiebreaker.

Lake Forest took the lead in the seventh minute with a goal from inside the box. Izzy Seipold (Peoria, Illinois) made four saves in the first 20 minutes but LFC scored twice in a 65 second span for a 3-0 lead. Seipold finished the half with 10 saves.

The Foresters made it 4-0 in the 59th minute and added the final goal 10 minutes later. Monmouth got shots on goal from Lauren DellaValle (Peoria, Illinois) and senior Natalya Main (Peoria, Illinois) in the final two minutes of the game. Seipold finished with 18 saves.

MONMOUTH MOMENTS: Avery Parks (Bloomington, Illinois) and Seipold played all 90 minutes ... Morgan Kistler (Kokomo, Indiana), Kiersten Medinger (Silvis, Illinois), Natalie Morrow (Silvis, Illinois), Molly Shook (Morton, Illinois), Parks, Ali Barnum (Pekin, Illinois), Caylee Duncan (Metamora, Illinois), Taylor Freeman (Washington, Illinois), Brooke Gruby (Leonardtown, Maryland), and Yoselim Hernandez (Monmouth, Illinois) played in all 16 games this season ... Kistler, Parks, Gruby and Barnum started all 16 games ... Parks led the team with 1377 minutes played ... Kistler led the Scots with 10 goals and 23 points while Jackie Contreras (Peoria, Illinois) led the team with four assists ... The Scots used 20 players on Saturday ... Seniors Parks, Gruby, Main and Madi Myers (Rensselaer, Indiana) were all in action Saturday and they join injured Grasyn Schmidt (Lodi, Wisconsin) in Monmouth's senior class ... The Scots trail the all-time series 21-7-1 and Lake Forest has won five in a row ... The last Monmouth win was 4-1 in 2019 ... The Scots finish in fifth place for the second straight season.
