Scots in Eighth After First Day of SLIAC Golf Championships

MONMOUTH, Ill. (05/04/2025) — The Monmouth men's golf team is tied for eighth place after day one of the 13-team SLIAC Championships in Edinburgh, Indiana. Round two is set for Monday at Timbergate Golf Course.

Cole Reavis (Buena Vista, Colorado) had Monmouth's best round on Sunday with a +4 76 and he is tied for 18th place. Thomas Henson (Geneseo, Illinois) is tied for 26th with a +5 77. Ganon Greenman (Alpha, Illinois) and Briggs Bossert (Evanston, Illinois) are both tied for 37th after a first round +7 79. Luke Foster (Galesburg, Illinois) shot a +11 83 and is tied for 50th.

At +23, Monmouth is tied with Spalding, one shot behind seventh-place Grinnell and four shots ahead of 10th place Westminster. The Mississippi University for Women, ranked 36th in the nation for Division III, leads the tournament by 14 strokes over Lake Forest after a day one score of -9. The individual leader is also from MUW and shot a -4 66 on Sunday to lead by four strokes. Of the five players to shoot under par on Sunday, three play for MUW.
