Monmouth is off to their best start in program history, improving to 6-1-1 after a 6-0 blanking of Principia Tuesday evening.

Kara-Jade Gordon took the suspense out of the equation early, scoring the only goal the Scots would need in the fourth minute on a feed from Jordyn Gosell. Gordon added another in the 56th minute, but by that time the Scots had received goals from Makayla Shaw, Ezzie Baltierra-Chavez and Devin Cross. Freshman Emma Freyermuth got in on the scoring in the 61st minute, taking a feed from Sam Koppers and Yari Aguado to net her first collegiate goal.

Goalkeeper Quin Cutler saw just one shot, and none on goal, to notch her third win against no losses as Monmouth outshot Principia 25-1 and placed 13 shots on frame.

It was the final match for the Scots before opening Midwest Conference play this weekend with a Saturday contest at St. Norbert and a Sunday affair at Beloit.
