Monmouth's women's tennis team dropped just four games in a 9-0 blanking of Blackburn College Saturday.

The Scots faced the Beavers between rain showers and made quick work of the visitors, taking a 3-0 team lead in doubles. Emma Johanns and McKenzie DeVilder took care of business at No. 1 doubles, winning 8-0. It was the same score for Rachael Leifheit and Alison Bowman at No. 2 as the tandem ran their doubles' win streak to five, one shy of the school record. The Scots earned the doubles point at No. 3 when the Beavers could not field a team.

The dominance continued in singles where Johanns and Leifheit won at Nos. 1 and 3 by identical 6-1, 6-0 scores. Emily Laughlin had an easy time at No. 4 where she won 6-2, 6-0. No. 2 DeVilder and No. 5 Bowman earned straight set wins without dropping a single game. The Scots also took the point at No. 6 when Blackburn was a player short of filling the position.

Monmouth gets back into Midwest Conference play Tuesday when they travel to Illinois College for a 4 p.m. match.
