Scots Pile up Victories, PRs at Saturday's Home Meet

MONMOUTH, Ill. (01/25/2026) — The Monmouth College men's and women's track and field teams hosted the Midwest Invitational on Saturday, the first home meet of the 2025-26 season.The Scots pulled off seven wins on the day.

WOMEN
Kayla Braun (Evansville, Illinois) led a 1-2-3-4 finish in the shot put with a season best 12.71m. Jillian Toth (El Paso, Illinois) was second at 11.66m and Lauren Orwig (Wyoming, Illinois) was third at 11.14m. Kyra Bivins (Esmond, Illinois) took fourth at 10.98m.

Toth won the weight throw with a season-best 15.94m with Braun in second at 14.89. Brynn Hogan (Galena, Missouri) was fourth at 13.37m and Bivins took fifth at 13.28m.

Maddie Rusk (Annawan, Illinois) finished second in the 200m in 27.38 seconds, just ahead of Makaiha Moore-Bell (Knoxville, Illinois) who took third in 27.39. A'Yianna Maxwell (Peoria, Illinois) finished fifth in 28.28.

Paige Luntsford (Cairo, Missouri) finished second in the mile in 5:41.45 with Melissa Bivolarov (Arlington Heights, Illinois) in fourth at 6:03.23.

Luntsford also took third in the 800m race in 2:43.22. This was her first indoor 800 and seven seconds better than her outdoor PR from last year.

Maxwell finished fourth in the long jump at 4.81m and Hazel Hill (Pleasant Hill, Illinois) finished sixth in the long jump at 4.31m

The 4x200m relay team of Rusk, Moore-Bell, A'Yianna Maxwell and Gonzalez took second in 1:50.13, .03 behind Loras.

MEN

Blake Orwig (Wyoming, Illinois) won the weight throw at 17.20m and Gunner Bryant (Curryville, Missouri) took third at 16.95m.

The Scots had four of the top five in the weight throw with freshmen Landon Erxleben (Pekin, Illinois) and Dame Thioubou (Monmouth, Illinois) going 1-2. Erxleben threw 14.86 with Thioubou at 14.81m. Bryant took fourth at 13.98m and Orwig was fifth at 13.56m.

Tashawn Ruffin (Bloomington, Illinois) won the triple jump in 13.32m and Damone Johnson (Macomb, Illinois) finished fifth at 12.28m.

Johnny York (Elmwood, Illinois) took second in the long jump at 6.25m with Kaden Foglesong (Ipava Illinois) in fourth at 6.10m .

Da'Von Patterson (Ponte Vedra, Florida) finished third in the 60m dash with a PR of 7.02 seconds in the final, the sixth-best time in Monmouth history. Maddox Clark (Monmouth, Illinois) finished fifth in 7.26.

Logan Morse (Yates City, Illinois) took second in the high jump at 1.90m with Patrick Curry (Chicago, Illinois) in third at 1.75m.

Foglesong finished fifth in the hurdles at 9.13 seconds after running 9.03 in the prelims. Foglesong and Lane Grice (East Galesburg, Illinois) tied for fifth in the pole vault at 3.55m.

The men ran the Distance Medley Relay for the first time this season with Xander Stoub (Palos Heights, Illinois), Brady Young (Paxton, Illinois), Riley Morgan (Jewett, Illinois) and Andrew Peterson (Galesburg, Illinois) winning the event in 11:09.96.

The 4x200m relay team of Patterson, York, Jerry Reed (Danville, Illinois) and Clark won by more than five seconds over Knox with a time of 1:33.17.

The 4x400m relay team of Patterson, Curry, Reed and Peterson took second in 3:34.00

NEXT UP:
The Scots head to Grinnell for the Grinnell Invitational next Saturday. The meet will begin at 10 a.m.
