Scots Rally for First League Win

Monmouth roared back to outlast Ripon 3-2 Friday night in Glennie Gym to earn their first win in Midwest Conference play. The Scots dropped Sets 1 and 3, but took Set 2 25-20 and held off the Red Hawks 25-21 in Set 4 to force the decisive fifth set.
Ripon took an early 9-5 lead in the final set before the Scots inched their way back. Megan Gilstrap's kill closed the gap to 9-7 as Monmouth later took the lead for the first time on a Ripon error for an 11-10 Scots' advantage. Monmouth finalized the win on Ashley Farris' 16th kill of the night.
The Scots host Lawrence Saturday at 1 p.m.
