Scots Swim Teams Split at IC

MONMOUTH, Ill. (11/09/2025) — The Monmouth College swim teams split their dual meet at Illinois College on Saturday as the women won 104-85 but the men lost 125-58 on Saturday. Allie Warren (Galesburg, Illinois) and Tariq McLarty (South Holland, Illinois) both won two individual events and Warren also swam on a winning relay team.

WOMEN

The 200 medley relay team finished second to Illinois Wesleyan with a time of 1:57.66. That time moves them into 10th by .01 seconds in Monmouth history.

Warren won the 200 yard breaststroke with a time of 2:36.72 while Addie Smith (Monmouth, Illinois) took second in 2:14.69. Warren also won the 200 freestyle in 2:08.03, winning by more than seven seconds.

Cally Tate (Monmouth, Illinois) won the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:16.07. Tate led the Scots to a 3-4-5 finish in the 50 freestyle with a time of 26.68. Claire LaBadie (Griffith, Indiana) took fourth in 28.01 and Allie Zamora (Arma, Kansas) was fifth in 28.44.

Caitlin Stewart (Monmouth, Illinois) won the 1650 freestyle by 19 seconds with a time of 20:12.06. She also took second in the 200 butterfly in 2:33.08.

Smith took second in the 100 freestyle in 1:00.04 with Nora Collins (Hopedale, Illinois) in third in 1:00.38 and LaBadie in fourth in 1:02.95.

Nicole Fitch (Marengo, Illinois) won the 400 IM in 5:20.20. Fitch took second in the 500 freestyle in 6:02.38 with freshman Zamora in third in 6:18.57

The women's 400 medley relay team of Tate, Warren, Stewart and Smith won by nearly eight seconds with a time of 4:23.70. The 400 freestyle relay of Fitch, Tate, Stewart and Smith won in 3:57.75.

MEN

McLarty won the 50 freestyle in 22.30 with Bucket Youvan (Rochester, Indiana) in third at 23.52. McLarty also won the 100 freestyle in 49.14 seconds, Youvan took fourth in 52.76 and Ethan Main (Oneida, Illinois) was fifth in 53.83.

Luke Foster (Galesburg, Illinois) took third in the 200 freestyle in 2:00.72 with Jordan Bridgford (Kapolei, Hawai'i) in fifth in 2:05.75. Foster took third in the 200 backstroke in 2:16.45 with Bridgford in fourth at 2:18.53.


Kody Coyne (Bluffton, Indiana) won the 200 breaststroke in 2:27.81 while Main took third in 2:34.94. Coyne was third in the 400 IM in 5:06.19 and Main was fourth in 5:18.57.

The men's 400 medley relay team of Bridgford, Coyne, McLarty and Youvan took second in 3:51.93. The 400 freestyle relay team of McLarty, Main, Foster and Youvan swam 3:31.51 to finish second.

MONMOUTH MOMENTS: The Scots will be back in action next Saturday at Millikin ... The next home meet is Jan. 17 against North Central.
