Scots Track & Field Grab Multiple Individual Wins at Snow Bird Invite

Monmouth opens season at IC

MONMOUTH, Ill. (01/23/2022) — The men's and women's track and field teams began their indoor season on Saturday at the Snow Bird Invite, hosted by Illinois College in Jacksonville.

Among the female winners for the Scots on Saturday were:

Kara Fisher (Monmouth, Illinois) in the 800m run at 2:32.66

Arika Hofmann (Monmouth, Illinois) in the mile run at 5:48.34

The women's 4x400m relay team of Fisher, Hofmann, Jordan Peckham (Farmington, Illinois) and Carolina Cruz (Monmouth, Illinois) in 4:20.84

The women's distance medley of Cruz, Nyasina Kwamboka (Nairobi, Kenya), Lindsay Eaton (Danvers, Illinois) and Emma Wohlstadter (Macomb, Illinois) in 16:29.92

Peckham got second in the 200m race at 27.01 while Bethany Allen (Monmouth, Illinois) finished second in the high jump at 1.45m.

Ashley Grotahus (Fenton, Missouri) finished second in the pole vault at 2.95m, just ahead of teammate Linsey Turner (Elburn, Illinois).

Maddie Boley (Beecher, Illinois) finished second in the shot put at 11.50m and second in the weight throw at 13.72m. Addi Cox (Morton, Illinois) finished third in the shot at 10.71m and third in the weight throw at 12.55m.

On the men's side, the Saturday winners were:
Luke Distworth (Oquawka, Illinois) in the 200m at 23.28.

Riley Dulin (Monmouth, Illinois) won the mile race in 4:24.73.

The 4x400m relay team of Dulin, Patrick Shepherd (Peoria, Illinois), Alex Brock (Lexington, Illinois) and Braden Bernas (Aurora, Illinois) won the race in 3:36.80.

The distance medley team of Bernas, Neo Colter (Geneseo, Illinois), Xavion York (Palo Seco, Trinidad & Tobago) and Harrison Hicks (Spring Grove, Illinois) won their race in 12:37.81.

Reed Wilson (Normal, Illinois) won the pole vault at 4.76m

Andy Bird (Hamilton, Illinois)) finished second in the shot put at 12.68m while also taking third in the weight throw at 14.02m.

Shepard finished third in the 200m at 23.83.

The Scots will compete next Saturday in the St. Ambrose Invite in Davenport, Iowa.
