Scots Win Four Events at Friday Night Track Meet

MONMOUTH, Ill. (02/21/2026) — The Monmouth College men's and women's track and field teams won four events and posted more than 20 PR's at the Friday Night Tri, hosted by Illinois Wesleyan.

WOMEN

Kayla Braun (Evansville, Illinois) won the shot put for the second week in a row with a throw of 12.68m. Jillian Toth (El Paso, Illinois) finished second at 12.17m, Kyra Bivins (Esmond, Illinois) set a new PR at 11.62 to finish third Brynn Hogan (Galena, Missouri) finished fifth at 10.45m.

Toth won the weight throw at 15.99m while Braun finished second with a PR of 15.78m. Hogan took third at 14,13m and Lauren Orwig (Wyoming, Illinois) was fourth with a PR of 13.61m.

Paige Luntsford (Cairo, Missouri) took second in the mile with a PR of 5:29.88. She ran nearly six seconds faster than her previous PR.

Maddie Rusk (Annawan, Illinois) took fourth in the 200m in a season-best 26.95.

MEN

Da'Von Patterson (Ponte Vedra, Florida) won the 400m with an indoor PR of 51.16.

Logan Morse (Yates City, Illinois) won the high jump at 1.92, just below the PR he set last week at home. Luke Reavis (Buena Vista, Colorado) finished fourth with a PR of 1.77m.

Johnny York (Elmwood, Illinois) set an indoor PR in the long jump at 6.56m and finished second. Tashawn Ruffin (Bloomington, Illinois) also had an indoor PR and finished fourth at 6.47m.

Blake Orwig (Wyoming, Illinois) placed second in the shot put with an indoor PR of 15.31m. Kolton Small (Wapello, Iowa) also set a PR at 14.18m to finish third. Gunner Bryant (Curryville, Missouri) took fourth at 13.85m and Dame Thioubou (Monmouth, Illinois) was fifth at 13.82m.

Bryant took second in the weight throw with a PR of 16.36m while Orwig was third at 16.32m.

Matthew Bright (Macomb, Illinois) took second in the pole vault at 3.90m with Lane Grice (East Galesburg, Illinois) in third at 3.75m.

Fernando Avila Rubio (Alpha, Illinois) took third in the mile with a PR of 4:43.02, more than eight seconds faster than his previous best.

Maddux Clark (Monmouth, Illinois) took fourth in the 60m with a PR of 7.13 seconds.

Andrew Peterson (Galesburg, Illinois) was fourth in the 800m with a new PR of 1.58.99.

Jerry Reed (Danville, Illinois) took fifth in the 200m with a PR of 22.97 seconds.

The Scots head to the Midwest Conference Indoor Championships at Grinnell on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 27-28.
