Scots Win Three Titles on Saturday, Both Teams 5th at MWC Championships

MONMOUTH, Ill. (05/09/2026) — The Monmouth College men's and women's track and field teams picked up three wins on the final of the Midwest Conference Outdoor Championships Saturday. Both the men's and women's teams finished in fifth place out of nine teams overall.

Senior JIllian Toth (El Paso, Illinois) won the hammer throw with the second-best throw in school history as she delivered a PR of 54.95m. That performance is the fifth-best in Division III this season and likely secures a return trip to the NCAA Championships.

Senior Kayla Braun (Evansville, Illinois) added a win in the discus to her Friday title in the shot put.

The men's 4x400m relay team finished the day with a win, Monmouth's 23rd all-time in the event. Logan Morse (Yates City, Illinois), Patrick Curry Jr. (Chicago, Illinois), Andrew Peterson (Galesburg, Illinois) and Adrian Outlaw (Galesburg, Illinois) finished in a season-best 3:22.06.

WOMEN

Toth's performance in the hammer marks the sixth consecutive year and 15th time overall the Scots have won the hammer. She finished second to Maddie Boley each of the last two seasons. Braun finished third with a PR of 45.66m and Kyra Bivins (Esmond, Illinois) took seventh with a PR of 43.06m.

Braun won the discus with a throw of 39.32m with Bivins in second at 37.82m and Toth in fifth at 36.83m. This is the sixth year in a row the Scots have won the discus and the 17th time overall.

Madison Rusk (Annawan, Illinois) finished fourth in the triple jump with a season-best 10.35m.

Sophia Kern (Abingdon, Illinois) finished sixth in the 400m hurdles in 1:11.19. She also placed seventh in the 100m hurdles in 17.08 seconds and Tatum Points (East Peoria, Illinois) took eighth in 18.67 seconds.

The 4x100m relay team of Rusk, Hazel Hill (Pleasant Hill. Illinois), Kern and A'yiana Maxwell (Peoria, Illinois) finished fifth in 50.94 seconds. The 4x400m team of Rusk, Kern, Maxwell and Melissa Bivolarov (Arlington Heights, Illinois) finished seventh in 4:32.35

MEN

Kaden Foglesong (Ipava, Illinois) finished third in the 100m hurdles with a PR of 15.02 seconds.

Landon Erxleben (Pekin, Illinois) finished fifth in the shot put at 14.96m and Gunner Bryant (Curryville, Missouri) took eighth at 14.48m.

Outlaw placed fourth in the 400m race in 51.17 seconds and Curry placed seventh in 53.28.

Fernando Avila Rubio (Alpha, Illinois) was sixth in the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 10:22.95

Curry placed sixth in the high jump at 1.81m with Morse picked up two points in seventh at 1.81m.

Maddux Clark (Monmouth, Illinois) finished seventh in the 100m race in 10.88 seconds.

Peterson placed eighth in the 800m in a PR of 1:57.88.

The 4x100m relay team of Johnny York (Elmwood, Illinois), Clark, Morse and Outlaw finished fifth in 43.14.
