Scots Women Finish 5th, Men 6th at MWC Championships

Monmouth, IL (02/23/2026) — The Monmouth College swim teams finished the Midwest Conference Championships on Sunday as the women took fifth place and the men finished in sixth. The Fighting Scots delivered four more Top10 swims in school history.

WOMEN

A day after swimming the second-best 400 IM in school history, Caitlyn Stewart (Monmouth, Illinois) delivered the third-best 1650 (mile) freestyle. With a time of 19:01.00, Stewart was nearly four seconds better than her previous PR and she earned 12 points with a ninth-place finish.

Allie Warren (Galesburg, Illinois) led four Scots into the finals of the 200 breaststroke and she finished third to earn 18 points with a time of 2:30.43. Nora Collins (Hopedale, Illinois) set a PR with the sixth-best time in MC history in the prelims and then went even faster in the finals to move up to the fifth-best time at 2:32.00. She finished sixth to earn 15 points and Addie Smith (Monmouth, Illinois) earned seven points in 12th place at 2:37.07. Lea Schmitt (Rockford, Illinois) picked up six points in 13th place in a time of 2:37.56.

Cally Tate (Monmouth, Illinois) made the A-Final in the 200 backstroke and finished ninth in the to pick up 12 points in a time of 2:17.93.

Nicole Fitch (Marengo, Illinois) picked up eight points with an 11th place finish in the 200 fly with a time of 2:25.99.

Addie Zamora (Arma, Kansas) had a PR of 57.57 in the 100 freestyle as she finished 17th to earn two points.

The women's 400 freestyle relay of Tate, Collins, Zamora and Fitch finished seventh with the ninth-best time in school history at 3:49.27.

With 348 points the Scots finished in fifth place, eighth points behind MSOE for fourth place. Grinnell won the women's championship with 1067 points.

MEN

Jordan Bridgford (Kapolei, Hawai'i) made the A-Final in the 200 backstroke and finished eighth to earn 13 points with a time of 2:05.15. Luke Foster (Galesburg, Illinois) picked up eight points in 11th place with a time of 2:05.75

Tariq McLarty (South Holland, Illinois) swam the 100 freestyle in 49.21 to finish 12th for seven points. Bucket Youvan (Rochester, Indiana) was 15th in 49.61 as he picked up four points

Kody Coyne (Bluffton, Indiana) took 12th place in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:21.06. Ethan Main (Oneida, Illinois) swam a PR in the prelims and then went a second faster in the final to pick up five points in 14th place with a time of 2:23.43.

The 400 freestyle relay team of McLarty, Foster, Main and Youvan finished sixth in 3:21.76 to earn 30 points.

The Scots finished in sixth place with 246 points, 118 behind Illinois College. Grinnell won the championship with 1037.5 points.
