by Nathan Baliva

MONMOUTH, Ill. (01/13/2026) — The Monmouth College swimming teams swept the Midwest Conference Performer of the Week awards on Tuesday. Sophomore Caitlyn Stewart (Monmouth, Illinois) won the award on the women's team while junior Luke Foster (Galesburg, Illinois) won for the men.

At Monmouth's tri-meet with Augustana and Coe, Stewart won the 500 freestyle in 5:33.00 and the 1650 freestyle in 19:26.58. She also swam on the 400 freestyle relay team that finished fourth in 4:04.37 with a team-leading split. Both her mile time and 500 time were dual-meet season bests

On Saturday, Foster took third in the 200 backstroke in 2:14.63 and fifth in the 100 backstroke in 59.38 seconds. Both of his times rank as his best dual-meet times of the season.

Stewart and Foster join Allie Warren (Galesburg, Illinois) as MWC swimming Performer of the Week winners this year. Warren won the award on November 11.

The Scots are back in the pool twice this weekend with a dual meet at Beloit on Friday and a dual meet at home against North Central on Saturday.
