Swim Splits Meet with Beloit as Men Win Convincingly

MONMOUTH, Ill. (01/18/2025) — The Monmouth College swim teams split with Beloit at home on Friday. The men won 111-30 while the women fell 88-83.

MEN

Tariq McLarty (South Holland, Illinois) won the 100 butterfly in 54.03, nearly seven seconds ahead of the second-place finisher. He was second in the 50 free in 22.15, just ahead of Bucket Youvan (Rochester, Indiana) at 23.16.

Luke Foster (Galesburg, Illinois) won the 200 yard freestyle in 2:03.69.

Jordan Bridgford (Kapolei, Hawai'i) won the 200 IM in 2:15.04 with Ethan Main (Oneida, Illinois) in second at 2:20.12. Bridgford was second in the 100 backstroke in 1:02.79.

Kody Coyne (Bluffton, Indiana) won the 100 breaststroke in 1:06.86 as he out-touched Main who swam 1:06.94.

Jaeden Peters (Greenfield, Indiana) won the 500 free in 5:46.58 with Calvin Wellman (San Antonio, Texas) in second with a time of 5:51.56.

Eli Wills (Blue Springs, Missouri) won the 100 freestyle in 52.85 with Jaydon Wilbon (Crown Point, Indiana) in second at 1:00.86.

The 200 yard medley relay team Foster, Wills, Main and Wellman took first place in 1:49.75 while the team of Wilbon, Coyne, Bridgford and Youman took second in 1:51.25.

The Scots were also 1-2 in the 200 yard freestyle relay. The team of Coyne, Peters, McLarty and Youvan won in 1:39.46. Wills, Foster, Wellman and Wilbon took second in 1:40.23
WOMEN

Cally Tate (Monmouth, Illinois) won the 100 backstroke in 1:01.55 Tate was second in the 50 free in 26.23 while Emily Davis (Beloit, Wisconsin) was fourth in 32.93.

Allie Warren (Galesburg, Illinois) won the 200 yard freestyle in 2:09.67, 11 seconds ahead of the top Beloit swimmer. Warren also won the 100 breaststroke in 1:14.01 with Davis in second at 1:25.84.

Caitlyn Stewart (Monmouth, Illinois) won the 200 IM by five seconds with a time of 2:21.84. She also won the 500 free in 5:40.50, a 14-second win.

Addie Smith (Monmouth, Illinois) won the 100 yard freestyle in 1:00.94.
