Swim Teams Split with IC on Senior Day

MONMOUTH, Ill (01/26/2025) — The Monmouth College swim teams split with Illinois College on Saturday as the women won 105-66 and the men lost 115-78. Saturday was senior day for Emily Davis (Beloit, Wisconsin) and Jaydon Wilbon (Crown Point, Indiana).

"Senior day is always a great way to end our regular season," said head coach Jake Dacus. "It was so much fun to see the love and support the team has for our two seniors today. Both Emily and Jaydon have always been fantastic teammates and it has been incredible to watch them grown into impactful leaders. It is hard to imagine where this team would be without them."

WOMEN

Cally Tate (Monmouth, Illinois) won the 100 backstroke by 15 seconds with a time of 1:01.34.

Allie Warren (Galesburg, Illinois) won the 200 freestyle in 2:09.90.

Addie Smith (Monmouth, Illinois) won the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:15.29 while Davis took third in 1:26.63.

Caitlyn Stewart (Monmouth, Illinois) won the 100 yard butterfly in 1:06.57. She also won the 500 freestyle by 13 seconds with a time of 5:41.10.

Nicole Fitch (Marengo, Illinois) won the 400 yard IM in 5:16.56 with a 16 second victory. She took third in the 500 freestyle at 5:54.97.

Abbie Ames (Rhinelander, Wisconsin) won the 100 freestyle in 1:02.48, leading a 1-2-3 finish. Isabel Lynch (Rock Island, Illinois) was second in 1:07.51 and Davis was third in 1:11.45. Ames finished second in the 50 free at 28.80 with Lynch in third at 29.12.

The 400 yard medley relay team of Tate, Stewart, Warren and Smith won with a time of 4:22.59

The 400 yard freestyle relay team of Tate, Smith, Warren and Fitch won with a time of 4:02.90.

MEN
Tariq McLarty (South Holland, Illinois) won the 100 butterfly in 53.68 with Eli Wills (Blue Springs, MissourI) in third at 1:00.43. Wills took second in the 500 freestyle in 5:35.97

Bucket Youvan (Rochester, Indiana) won the 50 freestyle in 23.11 and Wilbon was third in 25.98. Youvan was second in the 100 freestyle in 51.96 with Wilbon in third at 59.74.

Kody Coyne (Bluffton, Indiana) took second in the 400 IM in 5:02.62 while Ethan Main (Oneida, Illinois) was third in 5:10.11. Coyne also took second in the 100 breaststroke in 1:04.38 with Main in third at 1:07.37.

Luke Foster (Galesburg, Illinois) got second in the 200 freestyle in 1:57.10 with Calvin Wellman (San Antonio, Texas) in third at 2:08.05. Foster also took second in the 100 backstroke in 1:00.92 with Jordan Bridgford (Kapolei, Hawai'i) in third at 1:03.60.

Jaeden Peters (Greenfield, Indiana) took third in the 1000 freestyle in 12:18.34

The 400 yard medley relay team of Bridgford, Coyne, McLarty and Youvan took second with a time of 3:48.57.

The relay team of Wills, Main, Foster and McLarty took second in the 400 yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:29.82

The Scots are off until the season-ending Midwest Conference Championships, hosted by Grinnell College Feb. 21-23.
