by Nathan Baliva

MONMOUTH, Ill. (01/26/2026) — Monmouth College sophomore men's basketball player Cameron Thomas (Arlington, Texas) was named Midwest Conference Performer of the Week on Monday. This is the second week in a row the first-place Fighting Scots have won the award as Zay Brown (Peoria, Illinois) took the honor last week.

Thomas scored a career-high 30 points in Monmouth's only game last week, a 97-96 overtime win at Lake Forest. Thomas made six-of-seven from 3-point range for another career-high. He finished the game going 9-of-12 from the field while adding six free throws and one rebound. He hit four 3-pointers in the first half and scored 16 before adding 12 more in the second half and two free throws in overtime.

Thomas has scored at least 10 points in 12 straight games and he has 16 double digit games this season. The Scots are 9-0 in the MWC this season and 14-4 overall. The Scots will host Cornell on Tuesday and Beloit on Saturday.
