Three Different Goal Scores as Women's Soccer Wins in St. Louis

MONMOUTH, Ill. (09/12/2026) — The Monmouth College women's soccer team scored in both halves and won 3-0 at UHSP in St. Louis on Saturday. The victory moves the Scots to 3-0 to start a season for the first time since 2018.

Morgan Kistler (Kokomo, Indiana) had a shot saved in the 13th minute but two minutes later she put the Scots on top with her second goal of the season. Senior Mariah Hobson (Princeton, Illinois) had the assist on the goal. Lily Palazzolo (Washington, Michigan) had a shot saved later in the half and freshman keeper Cadence Covert (Pekin, Illinois) made two saves for the Scots in the first half.

Hobson had two shots on goal saved early in the second half and goalkeeper Izzy Seipold (Peoria, Illinois) made a save in the 63rd minute. Hobson put the Scots on top 2-0 in the 77th minute and Palazzolo scored her first career goal seven minutes later. With less than five minutes to play, UHSP avoided the shutout with a goal.

MONMOUTH MOMENTS: Taylor Freeman (Washington, Illinois), Ali Barnum (Pekin, Illinois) and Yoselim Hernandez (Monmouth, Illinois) played all 90 minutes ... Emily Leshin (Elgin, Illinois) made her 2026 debut, seeing action in goal for the last 10 minutes ... The Scots out shot UHSP 12-8 and shots on goal were 8-4 ... Palazzolo and Hobson both had three shots on goal while Kistler had two ... Kistler has 12 career goals and 28 career points ... Hobson had a goal and an assist ... She has three goals and an assist on the season with 14 career goals ... Monmouth last won their first three games in 2018 when they also started 3-0 ... The 2019 team was unbeaten after five games but drew their second game of the season ... Head coach Rhys Lewis is the first women's soccer coach in school history to win his first three games ... The teams have never met in a full game ... Last year they played less than 10 minutes in St. Louis before lightning halted the match and it never resumed ... The Scots return home for a 5 p.m. game against Millikin on Wednesday.
