by Nathan Baliva

MONMOUTH, Ill. (03/02/2024) — Two Monmouth College track and field throwers set new career highs at Friday's Last Chance Qualifier at UW-Platteville. Senior Caleb Toberman (Clifton, Illinois) threw 15.54m in the shot put and junior Maddie Boley (Beecher, Illinois) threw 13.28m. Boley's throw is the fifth-best in Monmouth indoor history and the best throw since 2013.

Toberman ranks 12th nationally in the weight throw at 18.77m and Shane Anderson (Lisle, Illinois) ranks eighth at 19.05m. Neither improved their national ranking in that event on Friday. The NCAA Division III Indoor Championship qualifiers will be announced later in the weekend with the top 20 in each event qualifying. Toberman's shot put throw on Friday ranks 50th.

Boley's shot put throw ranks 32nd nationally. She also ranks 28th in the weight throw with her 16.81m throw from last weekend's MWC Championships.

The NCAA Division III Indoor Championships are next weekend in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Toberman qualified last year while Boley went to the 2023 Outdoor Championships in the discus.
