Toth, Braun Qualify for NCAA Track & Field Championships

MONMOUTH, Ill. (05/18/2026) — Monmouth College senior throwers JIllian Toth (El Paso, Illinois) and Kayla Braun (Evansville, Illinois) have both qualified for the 2026 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Both were qualifiers last year and are the first Monmouth women to qualify in consecutive years outdoor since Erin Maul in 2014 and 2015.

Braun qualified sixth in the shot put with a PR throw of 14.00m at the home meet on April 23. A four-time MWC individual champion who swept the 2026 Field Performer of the Year awards, Braun finished 19th last year in the shot put at 13.02m.

Toth also qualified sixth in the hammer with her PR throw of 55.15m coming Wednesday at5 the Augustana Last Chance Qualifier. She won the hammer at the MWC Outdoor Championships two weeks ago, with at the time, the second-best throw in school history and a PR she surpassed less than a week later. Toth finished 14th at nationals in the hammer last year with a throw of 50.47m, earning Second-Team All-American.

The 2026 Division III NCAA Championships will be held at Veterans Memorial Stadium in La Crosse, Wisconsin. Braun will throw shot put at 1 p.m. on Friday while Toth competes in the hammer at 11 a.m. on Saturday.
