Track & Field Starts Outdoor Season at Redbird Challenge

MONMOUTH, Ill. (03/28/2026) — The Monmouth College men's and women's track and field teams opened the outdoor portion of the schedule with a 2-day meet at Illinois State University. The Redbird Challenge featured a handful of Division 1 teams along with Monmouth, Illinois College and Illinois Wesleyan.

WOMEN
Jillian Toth (El Paso, Illinois) took second in the hammer throw, finishing behind an Illinois State thrower. She threw 49.89m for the first outdoor meet of the season.

Kayla Braun (Evansville, Illinois) was second overall, first among D3 throwers in the shot put at 12.76m. She also finished 10th in the discus with a throw of 37.98m.

MEN

The 4x100m relay team of Da'Von Patterson (Ponte Vedra, Florida), Johnny York (Elmwood, Illinois), Jerry Reed (Danville, Illinois) and Maddux Clark (Monmouth, Illinois) finished fifth in 42.90 seconds.

Clark finished seventh in the 100m in 11.09 seconds. Patterson was seventh in the 200m race at 22.16 seconds.

Logan Morse (Yates City, Illinois) was fifth in the high jump at 1.90m. Damone Johnson (Macomb, Illinois) was sixth in the triple jump at 12.51m.

Kaden Foglesong (Ipava, Illinois) took sixth in the 400m hurdles in 1:01.72 while RoFael Jackson (Huron, Michigan) finished seventh in 1:06.03 and Ben Ragon (Mackinaw, Illinois) took eighth in 1:08.39.

Blake Orwig (Wyoming, Illinois) was seventh in the hammer throw at 50.98 while Gunner Bryant (Curryville, Missouri) took ninth at 47.72m.

Matthew Bright (Macomb, Illinois) was 10th in the pole vault at 3.93m.

NEXT UP:
The Scots head to the Viking Olympics, hosted by Augustana College, next Saturday in Rock Island, Illinois.
