by Nathan Baliva

MONMOUTH, Ill. (10/14/2023) — The Monmouth College cross country teams had their final regular season meet of the campaign on Saturday with the Augustana Interregional. The women's team finished in 14th place as a team with multiple personal records while the men finished in 30th place.

Isabella Manley (Peoria, Illinois) led the women's team in 56th place with a new PR of 26:07.9. Melissa Bivolarov (Arlington Heights, Illinois) was in 82nd place with a PR of 26:59.5 and Samantha Costello (Morris, Illinois) was right behind her with a PR of 27:05.4. Lindsay Eaton (Danvers, Illinois) was in 124th with a time of 28:13.7 and Kristen Rebman (Macomb, Illinois) set a PR in 171st place at 32:03.3. Emma Heiser (Marseilles, Illinois) also set a PR in 176th place with a time of 33:39.9

"On the women's side we overcame the conditions today and had a whole slew of PR's" said head coach Brady Hunt. "Some of those PR's were by more than a minute making this a very good day for the Scots program."

On the men's side, Eli Newton (Dallas City, Illinois) was 188th overall with a time of 28:42.5. William Plumley (Geneseo, Illinois) was next with a time of 28:46,2 in 196th place. Freshman Xander Stoub (Palos Heights, Illinois) finished in a time of 29:16.6 with Braden Bernas (Aurora, Illinois) in 32:47.9. Nate Newlin (DeKalb, Illinois) ran the course in 41:25.1.

"The guys ran great today on a sloppy and muddy course," said coach Hunt. "Our front three stayed together really well despite Will taking a tumble in the mud."

The Scots have next weekend off before running in the Midwest Conference Championships on Saturday, Oct. 28. The MWC Championships are being hosted by Grinnell this year.
