Women's Soccer Falls at Beloit Saturday
MONMOUTH, Ill. (10/22/2022) — The Monmouth College women's soccer team lost at Beloit College 3-0 on Saturday. The Midwest Conference loss drops the Scots to 3-10-1 overall and 0-5-1 in conference play with two games remaining.
Beloit got on the board in the 12th minute and doubled the lead with just five minutes left in the half. Beloit out-shot Monmouth 9-1 in the first half and neither team had a corner kick in the first 45 minutes.
The Scots did not record a shot in the second half and Beloit scored their third goal of the game with 13:39 to play. Goalkeeper Bronte De Zwart (Adelaide, Australia) made three saves for Monmouth and allowed two goals in 71 minutes. Lea Selquist (Peru, Illinois) played the final 19 minutes in goal and allowed the final tally.
Beloit out-shot Monmouth 14-1 for the game as Natalya Main (Peoria, Illinois) registered the Scots shot, which forced a Beloit save. The Scots are next in action on Wednesday with a 3:45 p.m. kickoff at Cornell College. They host Lawrence at 3 p.m. next Saturday for Senior Day at Peacock Park.
