by Nathan Baliva

MONMOUTH, Ill. (09/17/2026) — The Monmouth College women's soccer team saw their three-game win streak to start the season come to an end on Wednesday. The Fighting Scots (3-1) fell at home to Millikin 4-0 as they head into conference play this weekend.

Millikin scored just a minute into the game with their first shot on goal making it 1-0. Izzy Seipold (Peoria, Illinois) made a save and Jackie Contreras (Peoria, Illinois) put a shot on goal for the Scots on a free kick. Seipold added two more saves in the half and Millikin made a save on Sophie Haynes (Pekin, Illinois) with 10 minutes left in the half.

Seipold made a save early in the second half but Millikin scored two goals in five minutes to take a 3-0 lead. They scored off a corner kick and added the third goal after Seipold made a save. With 24 minutes left to play, Millikin made it 4-0 with a scramble goal in the box. Lily Palazzolo (Washington, Michigan) nearly got the Scots on the board with less that 10 minutes to play but her shot hit the post and Big Blue finished off the win.
