Women's Soccer Falls to Lawrence on Saturday

MONMOUTH, Ill. (09/27/2026) — The Monmouth College women's soccer team allowed two goals in each half and fell to Lawrence 4-0 on Saturday. The Fighting Scots (5-2, 1-1) had six shots on goal but couldn't break through against the Vikings.

Lawrence took a 1-0 lead in the seventh minute and doubled the lead 10 minutes later. Mariah Hobson (Princeton, Illinois) and Morgan Kistler (Kokomo, Indiana) both forced saves between the goals with the latter getting two chances at goal. Izzy Seipold (Peoria, Illinois) made two saves before the half with Lawrence staying ahead 2-0.

The Vikings made it 3-0 just two minutes into the second half. They added another goal in the 59th minute for a 4-0 lead. Freshman Cadence Covert (Pekin, Illinois) made a pair of saves as did the Vikings keeper. Covert added two more saves to keep it at 4-0 for the contest.

MONMOUTH MOMENTS: Covert made four saves and Seipold had two ... Lawrence out-shot Monmouth 15-9 and shots on goal were 10-6 ... Kistler had three shots on goal for Monmouth ... Lawrence leads the all-time series 15-10-4 with four straight wins ... They won 3-0 at home last year ... The Scots return to action with a 4 p.m. kickoff against Cornell at home on Tuesday.
