Women's Soccer Plays 0-0 Draw at Coe

Caster saves penalty kick in draw

MONMOUTH, Ill. (09/14/2024) — The Monmouth College women's soccer team played a 0-0 draw at Coe College on Saturday, t. The Scots (2-2-2) denied the Kohawks on a penalty kick in the 56th minute and neither team found the winner down the stretch.

Monmouth goalkeeper Anna Caster (Greenfield, Indiana) made seven saves in the contest and denied the Coe penalty kick early in the second half. Monmouth put three shots on goal in the game, with two coming from Danielle Beach (Geneseo, Illinois). Freshman Taylor Freeman (Washington, Illinois) had Monmouth's other shot on goal.

MONMOUTH MOMENTS: The Scots have consecutive shutouts and have one goal in the last 325 minutes ... Avery Parks (Bloomington, Illinois), Mylee Hansen (Pekin, Illinois), Freeman and Caster played all 90 minutes ... Coe outshot Monmouth 15-5 and shots on goal were 7-3 ... Corner kicks were 6-4 in favor of Coe ...The teams are 2-2-1 head-to-head since 2013 ...Last year Coe won 3-1 in Monmouth ... The Scots play at Augustana on Wednesday with a 7 p.m. kickoff ... The next home game is Saturday, Sept. 21 with a 10 a.m. kickoff against Illinois Wesleyan.
