by Nathan Baliva

MONMOUTH, Ill. (10/18/2026) — The Monmouth College women's tennis team finished their season on Saturday. The Scots (1-10, 1-6) lost 6-1 to Lawrence and 7-0 to Lake Forest in a pair of rescheduled home matches.

Sophomore Tiah Riggs (Vincennes, Indiana) won at No. 4 singles against Lawrence with a 6-2, 6-2 victory. She also teamed with senior Kimber Calvert (Paris, Illinois) to win 7-6 (6) at No. 2 doubles against the Vikings.

"Tiah played a great match today and was willing to run down a lot of balls and wait on her opponent to make an error," said head coach Brian Dahlstrom. "She has continued her toughness and willingness to compete from last year and has added weapons to her game."

Lawrence won the doubles points as they defeated Ivana Stefanova (Streamwood, Illinois) and Jenny Nelson (Wentzville, Missouri) 6-1 at No. 1 doubles and beat Delaney Albarran (Chicago, Illinois) and Korryn Keehner (Staunton, Illinois) 6-4 at No. 3.

Stefanova fell 6-0, 6-4 at No. 1 singles while Nelson lost 6-3, 6-1. Calvert fell 6-4, 6-3 at No. 3, Albarran lost 6-4, 6-1 at No. 5 and Keener fell 6-2, 7-5 at No. 6.

Against Lake Forest, Stefanova fell 6-4, 6-0 while Nelson lost 6-1, 6-2. Calvert fell 6-0, 6-1 and Riggs lost 6-1, 6-1. Albarran lost 6-1, 6-0, Keener fell 6-0, 6-2 and all three doubles teams lost 6-0.

MONMOUTH MOMENTS: Stefanova went 3-1 in both singles and doubles against Lawrence in dual matches for her career ... She was 8-3 in singles for the fall season ... Riggs has four singles wins on the season ... The doubles team of Riggs and Calvert won four times in the fall, the most of any of the Scots doubles pairings ... Lawrence has won seven straight against the Scots dating back to a 2018 Monmouth win ... Last year the Vikings won 4-3 ... The Scots have just one singles win since 2015 against LFC and it came from Riggs last year ... The Scots do not have any more matches scheduled for the season.
