Zay Brown Named to D3hoops.com Team of the Week
First Monmouth selection since 2019
MONMOUTH, Ill. (02/25/2025) — Monmouth College men's basketball player Zay Brown (Peoria, Illinois) earned national honors on Tuesday as he was named to the 5-man D3hoops.com Team of the Week. Brown is the sixth all-time selection for the Fighting Scots since the team began in 1998 and the fourth player to earn the honor.
Brown is the first Monmouth player selected to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week since Will Carius in February of 2019. Carius picked up two selections in 2019 while Justin Aluya made the team twice in 2018 and Chris Hebeler was selected in 2006.
Brown scored 51 points in two games last week as the Scots wrapped up the MWC regular-season championship and #1 seed in this weekend's MWC Tournament. Brown also had 33 rebounds in the two games to go with eight assists, two blocks and two steals.
Monmouth hosts Lake Forest at 7 p.m. Friday in the second semifinal of the MWC Tournament.
