Zay Brown Repeats as MWC Performer of the Week

MONMOUTH, Ill. (02/24/2025) — For the second week in a row and fourth time in the last five weeks, Monmouth College basketball freshman Zay Brown (Peoria, Illinois) has been named Midwest Conference Performer of the Week.

Brown scored 51 points in two games last week with 33 rebounds as the Fighting Scots secured the #1 seed in the MWC Tournament and tied a school record with 20 wins on the season. Wednesday, in a home win over Cornell, Brown tied his season and career high with 31
points and added 19 rebounds with two assists, one block and two steals. He made 15 FG in the game as the Scots clinched the #1 seed.

On Saturday against Grinnell, Brown had 20 points on 8-for-13 shooting with 4-of-5 at the free throw line. He added 14 rebounds, a season-high six assists and one block. For the week, Brown averaged 25.5 pts, 16.5 reb, 4 assist, 1 block and 1 steal per game.

Brown has won the MWC Performer of the Week award four of the last five weeks, with a pair of repeats. He and the Scots will host Lake Forest at 7 p.m. Friday in the second semifinal of the MWC Tournament.
