Track & Field Teams Rack up Personal Bests at Home Meet

MONMOUTH, Ill. (04/24/2026) — The Monmouth College men's and women's track and field teams posted nearly 40 personal bests as they hosted the Thursday Twilight Special. The Scots also had six wins in a meet that included Illinois College, Grinnell, Knox and Illinois Wesleyan.

Kayla Braun (Evansville, Illinois) led the way with a new PR as she won the shot put with a throw of 14.00m. That throw ranks third in Monmouth history for outdoor shot put. Braun also won the discus while JIllian Toth (El Paso, Illinois) won the hammer with a season-best throw.

Logan Morse (Yates City, Illinois) won the high jump at 1.91m and the Scots prevailed in both the men's 4x400m relay and the women's 4x100m relay.

MEN

Kaden Foglesong (Ipava, Illinois) finished second in the 110m hurdles with a PR of 15.37 seconds. He also took fourth in the javelin with a PR of 48.00m

Landon Erxleben (Pekin, Illinois) took second in the shot put with a PR of 15.30m, Dame Thioubou (Monmouth, Illinois) took third in the discus with a a PR of 45.96m. Michael Moreno (Galesburg, Illinois) was fourth in the hammer with a PR of 48.62m.

Andrew Peterson (Galesburg, Illinois) was second in the 800m with an outdoor PR of 2:00.07. Fernando Avila Rubio (Alpha, Illinois) was third in 2:03.41 and Riley Morgan (Jewett, Illinois) was fourth in 2:08.12.

Luke Reavis (Colorado Springs, Colorado) was fourth in the high jump at 1.76m,

Johnny York (Elmwood, Illinois) took third in the long jump at 6.64m.

Braden Rees (Galesburg, Illinois) was fourth in the 1500m run in 4:36.78.

Matthew Bright (Macomb, Illinois) took fourth in the pole vault with a PR of 4.35m.

WOMEN

Toth won the hammer with a season-best throw of 51.82m and Braun was second at 48.21m. Toth was second in the shot put at 12.67m while Kyra Bivins (Esmond, Illinois) was fourth at 11.70m,

Maddie Rusk (Annawan, Illinois) finished fourth in the 200m race in 26.50 seconds.

Sophia Kern (Abingdon, Illinois) was fourth in the 400m hurdles in 1:11.45, a new PR.

Melissa Bivolarov (Arlington Heights, Illinois) was fourth in the 800m in 2:47.96.

NEXT UP:
The next team meet is also at home, on Saturday, May 2. Toth will throw at the Drake Relays on Saturday and Monmouth will also send select distance runners to Wisconsin-Whitewater on Saturday.
