Baseball Puts Four on All-Conference Team
MONMOUTH, Ill. (05/14/2026) — The Monmouth College baseball team put four players on the Midwest Conference All-Conference teams announced on Thursday. The tally is tied for the most in school history under the current format.
Senior Aidan Parkins (Monmouth, Illinois) was a First-Team selection as an infielder. Fellow senior Aiden Scott (Carrollton, Texas) was a Second-Team infield selection, as was junior Jace Wilkerson (East Peoria, Illinois). Sophomore catcher Zach Almaguer (Monmouth, Illinois) was Second-Team, and the only catcher honored by the MWC coaches on either All-Conference team.
Overall this season, Parkins hit .391 with 63 hits, 44 runs scored, 11 doubles, two triples, two homers, 36 RBI, 18 walks and 11 stolen bases. In 21 conference games he hit .404 and slugged .511 with a .472 on-base percentage while scoring 28 runs, driving in 20 and stealing eight bases. He went 9-for-15 in the MWC Tournament with two homers, a double, triple, six runs scored and five RBI. His 63 hits are second-most in a season in school history and his 44 runs are fifth
Wilkerson broke the single-season Monmouth home run record with 12 this season, and 11 of those came in MWC play. Overall this season, the newcomer hit .288 with 46 RBI, 36 runs scored, a .564 slugging percentage and 88 total bases. In conference action he hit .362 with a .777 slugging percentage. Wilkerson drove in 38 runs in 21 MWC games while scoring 28 times and delivering 16 extra-base hits. He also started two games on the mound in conference action with a 3.18 ERA.
Scott started all 40 games this season and hit .354 with two homers, 10 doubles, two triples, 27 RBI, 29 runs scored, 18 walks and two steals. He led the Scots in sacrifice bunts (4) and sacrifice flies (3). In MWC action, Scott hit .361 with 18 RBI, two homers, 21 runs scored, five doubles and 10 walks.
Almaguer led all MWC catchers with 11 runners thrown out stealing in conference play at a 31% rate. He also led with a .994 fielding percentage as he committed just one error in 21 games. Almaguer hit .384 in MWC action, second-best on the Scots, with two homers, 17 RBI, 19 runs scored and a .570 slugging percentage. He led the Scots with 10 doubles in MWC action while also drawing eight walks. Overall, Almaguer threw out 20 base-runners on the season and posted a .982 fielding percentage.
The Scots also had four selections in 2018 and 2011. They had three last year with Raul Guillermo, Daniel Lummus and Nate Reed.
