Cross Country Seasons Start August 29 in Iowa

MONMOUTH, Ill. (07/07/2025) — The Monmouth College men's and women's cross country teams will be the first to compete in the 2025-26 academic year when they hit the course in Dubuque, Iowa on Friday, August 29. Overall, the cross country teams will participate in seven meets this season, including the Midwest Conference Championships and NCAA Midwest Regional.

The season begins on Friday, August 29 with a night meet at the Bob Schultz Invite hosted by Loras College at the Dubuque Soccer Complex. The Scots also began the 2024 season at the Schultz Invite.

A new meet on the schedule sends the Scots south on Friday, September 5 for the UIS Prairie Stars Invite in Springfield, Illinois. The meet takes place on the UIS Cross Country Course, adjacent to the YMCA soccer fields.

After a week off the Scots return to the Bradley Intercollegiate in Peoria, Illinois on Friday, September 19. The annual meet is contested at Detweiller Park, home to the IHSA State Championships.

Another new meet on the schedule for the Scots is the Seminole Valley Stampede, hosted by Mount Mercy. The meet on Saturday, October 4 will be at the Seminole Valley Park in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

The Scots are off for fall break and head back to the Augustana Interregional on Saturday, October 18. This meet will be held at Saukie Golf Course in Rock Island, Illinois with a morning start and serves as the final regular season meet.

The 2025 Midwest Conference Cross Country Championships will be hosted by Cornell College in Cedar Rapids on Saturday, November 1. The event will be at Seminole Valley Park, marking the Scots second race of the season at SVP. The men's 8K race will start at 11 a.m. with the women's 6K race beginning at noon. Cornell is the defending men's team champion while Lawrence won the 2024 women's title.

After a week off, the Scots head to the NCAA Midwest Regionals on Saturday, November 15. The NCAA event will be hosted by Wartburg College on their Max Cross Country Course in Waverly, Iowa. The men will run at 11 a.m. with the women starting at noon.
