Monmouth, Knox Colleges Combine to Donate Blood to Area Hospitals
Monmouth donates 48 units, Knox 38 units in lead-up to 134th Turkey Bowl game on Nov. 11.
MONMOUTH, Ill. (10/27/2023) — On Nov. 11, the Monmouth College and Knox College football teams will compete 134th time in the legendary Turkey Bowl. On Oct. 26, the two colleges went head-to-head to donate blood -- and the big winner were area hospitals.
A total of 86 units of blood were donated by members of the Monmouth and Knox communities. Monmouth donated 48 units, including three double red cell donations, compared to Knox's 38 units.
The blood drive -- administered by ImpactLife of Davenport, Iowa -- was sponsored at at Monmouth by the College's Pre-Health Society. The blood will be used by area hospitals.
