Monmouth's Dobberstein Named SLIAC Academic All-Conference
Monmouth, IL (08/10/2020) — Monmouth College sophomore Ben Dobberstein (Oswego, IL/Oswego) made the grade in his inaugural season of men's golf in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference scoring all-academic honors.
After scoring all-league academic honors in his freshman season competing in the Midwest Conference, Dobberstein made it two-for-two when the Fighting Scots moved to the SLIAC in the 2019-20 season. Playing in this year's COVID-shortened season, Dobberstein averaged a career-best 87.89 through nine rounds.
A political science major, Dobberstein is the son of Patrick and Christine Dobberstein.
In order to earn academic all-SLIAC honors, student-athletes must have achieved at least a sophomore status at their institution and hold a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5.
