Monmouth's Gallis Named D3hoops.com All-Region
Monmouth, IL (03/18/2020) — Monmouth College's Becca Gallis (Kernville, Calif./Kern Valley) picked up another postseason honor this week as she was named to the D3hoops.com All-Central Region third team.
Gallis becomes just the second Fighting Scot woman to earn All-Region basketball honors, following Melissa Gorski - also a Central Region third-team honoree - from the 2008-09 season. A three-time All-Midwest Conference selection and the 2019-20 Midwest Conference Player of the Year, Gallis started in all 27 games during her senior season, averaging 16.3 points per game and canning 56 three-pointers, both team highs. Converting 86 percent of her free throws as a senior, Gallis set the Scots' record for consecutive free throws in a game (13), season and career (32).
The shooting guard played in a program-record 101 games and finished her career with 1,392 points to rank third on Monmouth's list. She scored 20 or more points in a game 25 times, which also ranks third. Her 193 three-pointers ranked second and she finished third in career three-point accuracy (38.3).
The exercise science major is the daughter of William and Sheila Gallis.
