National Coaches' Group Names Scots' Krall First-Team All-American
Monmouth, IL (12/04/2019) — Senior offensive lineman Joe Krall (New Berlin, Ill./New Berlin) has become Monmouth College's 31st football All-American after the American Football Coaches' Association (AFCA) named him to their first team this week.
Krall was just the sixth Fighting Scot in program history to earn the award from the AFCA and the third since 2016. The 6-foot-4, 300-pound right tackle was Monmouth's first offensive lineman to earn All-American status from the national coaches' organization. Krall began the season as a two-time all-region performer as selected by D3football.com, which also named him a preseason All-American. Named the Offensive Line MVP by the Midwest Conference, Krall was a key member of the offensive line that provided pass protection as Scots' quarterbacks threw for over 1,200 yards and had a cumulative pass efficiency rating of 101.46. He also helped pave the way for a pair of first-year starting running backs who combined to rush for nearly 1,300 yards.
A business major, he is the son of Connie Krall and Michael and Kathi Krall.
AFCA Division III All-Americans are selected in a vote of head coaches representing each conference from each of the AFCA's eight districts. The coaches in each district are responsible for ranking the top players in their respective districts prior to the voting process.
