Scots' Rookie, Kiesgen Picks Up Weekly League Honor
Monmouth, IL (02/26/2020) — It didn't take Monmouth College freshman Gordon Kiesgen (Spring Grove, Ill./Grant) long to draw attention, earning this week's Midwest Lacrosse Conference Defensive Performer of the Week honor.
Kiesgen was a heavyweight in faceoffs last week, helping Monmouth to a 2-0 start with an 11-4 win at Carroll. The freshman dominated, winning 15 of his 19 faceoffs and scooping up six ground balls. For the season, Kiesgen has a .622 faceoff percentage, winning 23 of his 37 faceoffs. He's also collected 10 ground balls to tie for the team lead in that category.
A business major, Kiegsen is the son of Gordon and Nanette Kiesgen.
