Monmouth had one goal called back and gained no ground on the top three in the Midwest Conference after rival Knox clipped the Scots 1-0 Wednesday at Peacock Memorial Athletic Park.
Following a Scots' would-be goal nullified by an offsides call, the Prairie Fire responded with a goal in the 49th minute for the only scoring in the game. Knox held a 12-7 shot advantage and found the one only to reach the net to keep the Scots in fourth place in the MWC with six points.
The Scots travel to Illinois College for a 1 p.m. matchup on Friday.
