Six Scots Score in 13-4 Lacrosse Win at Beloit
Meyer, Donohoo & Casey Each deliver hat tricks
MONMOUTH, Ill. (03/19/2022) — The Monmouth College men's lacrosse team moved to 3-2 on the season with a 13-4 win at Beloit College on Saturday.Three players scored three goals each in the win as the Fighting Scots played for the first time in 11 days.
Kain Donohoo (St. Charles, Illinois) got the Scots on the board with an unassisted goal less than four minutes into the game. Two minutes later, Liam Meyer (Cedarburg, Wisconsin) made it 2-0 with a goal assisted by Michael Casey (Chicago, Illinois). LH Bond (Fishers, Indiana) added a goal on an assist by Donohoo and Casey made it 4-0 before the end of the first quarter.
Down a man, the Scots kept the pressure on the Buccaneers as Donohoo netted his second of the game early in the second quarter. Casey followed with two more goals in the quarter, one a man down and one a man up. Jeff Knapp (Nolensville, Tennessee) assisted on the goal that gave the Scots a 7-0 lead at halftime.
Knapp found the back of the net 3:30 into the second half for an 8-0 Monmouth lead before Beloit got on the board at the 6:08 mark, Donohoo scored his third of the game two minutes later for a 9-1 lead. Meyer and Knapp scored 48 seconds apart as the Scots took an 11-1 lead into the final quarter.
Meyer scored again with the Scots leading 11-2 and in a man-down situation. After Beloit scored twice, Bond picked up his second goal of the game with 1:43 to play for the 13-4 final. Jack Koenn (Dexter, Michigan) assisted the final goal of the day.
