The Suits are up next Nov. 9 in Monmouth's Maple Leaf Community Concert Series
Monmouth, Ill. (11/03/2023) — The next musical act coming to Monmouth as part of the Maple Leaf Community Concert Series will sing not once, but twice while they're in town.
The Suits, whose sound is a fusion of doo wop, pop and rock 'n' roll, will perform at 7 p.m. Nov. 9 in Monmouth College's Dahl Chapel and Auditorium. Admission is free to individuals with a Monmouth College ID. For others, tickets are available at the door or in advance at the Buchanan Center for the Arts in downtown Monmouth.
The Suits will also be this year's matinee performers in the concert series.
"The last two years, we've expanded to have one of the artists offer a matinee, where we bring in students from Immaculate Conception School, Monmouth-Roseville and United," said MLCCS co-president Stan Jenks. "The artists perform for the kids, and then there's an opportunity for the kids to ask questions, like how the performers got into the business. We're so excited about that."
That additional performance carries an extra fee, which Jenks said is covered by the United Way of Greater Warren County and the Galesburg Community Foundation.
Billed as "Four gentlemen. Four genres. Four decades," The Suits fuse smooth choreography and tight harmonies with exciting showmanship and fun interaction as they take audiences on a journey from the 1950s through the '80s. Influenced by The Beatles, Stevie Wonder, The Four Seasons, Journey, and more, the group's repertoire features recognizable hits like "Oh What a Night" and "Signed, Sealed, Delivered."
