Two Monmouth College men receive special recognition at Honors Convocation

Monmouth, IL (05/24/2018) — Two Monmouth College men received special awards at the College's annual honors convocation on April 24.

Senior and Freshman Man of the Year honors were awarded by the Monmouth chapter of Blue Key Honor Society, a national organization recognizing upperclassmen for outstanding character and ability and for distinction in service, leadership and scholarship.

Fighting Scots basketball standout Paul Engo III of Chicago was named Senior Man of the Year. A business administration major with a minor in communication studies, Engo helped Monmouth reach the NCAA Division III National Tournament for the first time in 28 years. In addition to athletics, he has also been involved with Campus Outreach and Umoja. Engo is the son of Pamela Engo-Sena.

Terrence Best of Belleville, N.J., received the Freshman Man of the Year honor. A sociology and anthropology major, Best is a member of Colorful Voices of Praise, Pain Is Temporary and the football team. He is the son of Terrence Sr. and Daphne Best.

Founded in 1853, Monmouth College is a nationally ranked liberal arts college of 1,100 students. Affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and the birthplace of the women's fraternity movement, the college offers 34 majors, 33 minors, 18 pre-professional programs, and two innovative Triads in Global Food Security and Global Public Health.
